About

Creating supportive communities through the simple act of walking and talking together.

The Walk N Talk Story

Walk N Talk 4 Mental Health was born from a simple idea:

That walking side by side makes it easier to open up and talk about mental health.

The Beginning

What started as walks among friends has grown into a community-wide movement.

Our Impact

Hi, I'm Jude, a passionate mental health advocate, Charity CEO and campaigner. I thrive on stopping stigma. Public speaker and trainer with a life story that to quote others is "inspiring and real" and having overcome adversity to get to where I am now, I passionately encourage others to discover and communicate their authentic selves. Motivated by a diverse background in life experience, psychology, art psychotherapy, teaching, and training, I embrace an eclectic mix of skills. Navigating life with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and rediscovering myself having overcome Mental health challenges, my strength lies in resilience. Fascinated by science and captivated by the power of the mind, I have delved into areas like neurodiversity, mental health, and the connection with creative brain. I hope my journey illustrates the power of an inquiring mind, exploring tangents and returning with valuable insights. I challenge others to step out of their comfort zones and to unleash their creative energy. As CEO of Walk N Talk 4 Mental Health I want people to know that we offer a safe space for people to find themselves. Remember, in the words of Oscar Wilde and Dr. Seuss, 'Be more you' because 'no one is you'er than you.' Let's celebrate the inherent power within each unique individual.

Hello, I am the Customer Services Director for Bubbles Bathrooms and Tiles in Basingstoke. I am also a Trustee and the Project Manager for Walk N Talk 4 MentalHealth. I enjoy getting involved with the group and individual walks. I am a Mental Health First-Aider, having completed the course a few years ago with Jude Price as our instructor. When Jude approached me with her idea of a Walk N Talk charity, I jumped at the chance to get involved. During the first COVID-19 lockdown, I'd realised how much going for walks really helped my own mental health and well-being, and was keen to help others. Having had a family members and staff members who struggled with their mental health, because of various life events and physical health issues, I feel that having something to plug that gap between doing nothing and getting professional help is going to be vital to improving the mental health of the whole nation.

Hello and welcome, I'm a senior HR professional who's worked in a variety of settings for over 20 years. During lockdown I decided to support a local charity Walk N Talk as a volunteer and attended the Mental Health First Aid Course so I could become a lead walker. My main reason for wanting to lead walks and meet others is I know how important a chat and walk can be. I suffered anxiety attacks when I was younger. During my career I have supported many employees and so understand how life can be very hard at times. I have strong experience of those suffering from PTSD. I lead 2 walks in the Andover area. We talk about all sorts of things, TV, news, Family, work, holidays, the walk scenery, our difficult days, tips on shopping! Such a variety but always a break from the routine. The walks take approximately 45 minutes. There is never any pressure to join our walks and you can join and leave whenever you want. Hope to see you soon.

I have been volunteering my expertise, working closing with Jude and Kate, since September 2023. I have 13 years Executive/Personal Assistant experience across different sectors. It has been a truly rewarding experience helping them to build the charity's administrative infrastructure by implementing Google Workspace for Non-Profit Organisations and launching this website. My Dad sadly passed away in February 2023, following multiple organ failure, we were close, we spoke nearly everyday. As he struggled with his mental health in his life, I feel proud to be a part of the Walk N Talk 4 Mental Health team in his memory.
